Opening Guidelines

Grace to you and peace from God our creator and the Lord, Jesus Christ.
The council at Grace Lutheran Church, Fort Worth, is excited to announce that services will be
held in the sanctuary beginning March 28, 2021 Palm Sunday. That’s right, the church is opening its
doors after one year of being closed due to covid. Latest reports indicate that half of Texas’
senior citizens have received at least one dose of the Covid vaccine. At the time of this writing,
less than 10 percent of all Texans have been vaccinated. While we remain hopeful, maintaining
best practices for preventing the spread of Covid remains a top priority for Grace. As such,
guidelines intended to keep all worshippers as safe as possible include:
  • Grace opening guidelines
  • 1. Service begins at 10am. Please make a special note that previously worship began
  • at 10:30am. Sunday services have now been moved to 10am every Sunday morning.
  • 2. Temperature checks will be conducted with a touchless thermometer.
  • 3. A mask or face shield must be worn at all times while in the church by those ages two
  • and over.
  • 4. Social distancing will be maintained:
  • a. Please select an empty pew to sit in if one is available. (Every other pew will be
  • closed off to aid in social distancing).
  • b. Communion will be provided in pre-sealed packets and consumed in the pew.
  • c. Sharing the peace will be replaced with communal prayers for peace.
  • 5. To avoid close contact, ushers will help guide worshipers to separate entry and exit
  • doors, which will be clearly marked.
  • 6. At the conclusion of service, pews will be dismissed one at time. Please follow ushers’
  • instructions. Please do not congregate in the narthex.
  • 7. Sunday school will be held online only, and service will be broadcast live over
  • social media for those who choose to remain at home.
  • 8. There will be no pre-service “coffee” or “social time.”
Though we continue to be cautious, we celebrate this opportunity to worship together again in
one place and are confident that all will follow safety guidelines. The Lord bless you and keep
you. The Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you. The Lord lift His
countenance to you and give you peace.
